SOWA Open Market Finds!

This weekend, one of my bridesmaids and I headed down to the SOWA Open Market in Boston's South End to see what kind of fun crafts we could find and to eat at some yummy food trucks!  You can see a bunch of the pictures on my Instagram page (user name: girlfromwollaston).  But the best finds were related to the wedding!  I found the perfect headpiece, and a bunch of brooches for my bouquet.  I had been searching for the perfect headband since I got my hair cut short again, and we found success at the market.  I left the seller's name at home, so I will update that tomorrow.

Veils

Veils...I'm trying to decide on one.  I like the idea of a short one but not a birdcage veil (although I love birdcage veils, I just don't think it would go right with my dress).  I like the design on number 3, but I'm not sure about the length; it's a little on the long side.

engagement party and updates!

This past weekend we had our engagement party at Fox and Hound and it was amazing!  My parents made the trip out to Boston which was great, and all our families got to meet one another.  Our bridal party all got to meet each other too!  So mission accomplished with the party!

In wedding planning news, I deposited on the limo and the rentals today which is a relief.  We also decided to go with Cake Spot in Quincy for our cupcakes/wedding cake (so excited about this).  We also finished our Pre-Cana classes this past Wednesday so we are all set to get married in our Church.

I also got our invitations and Save the Date cards which I'll post in the upcoming days!

Wedding Shoes...again!

This time, for real, I have found my wedding shoes.  They are first and foremost ridiculously comfortable, they feel like you are wearing sneakers (thanks to the Nike Air technology).  And secondly, they are blue!  Just what I wanted.

Guest Book Alternative

I like the idea of using a card catalog as a guest book alternative.  It also gives a nod to my mom the librarian.  The card catalog would also be very functional for after the wedding for addresses and recipes!

making progress!

With my Vistaprint savings in hand, I ordered our Save the Date cards last week!  We also decided on the invitation we want (see this post) and I've been in contact with the designer.  I have a slew of Etsy purchases to make over the next few months!  But the biggest news for us is that we finally have secured our date with the Church!  What a relief that was.  I'm going to use more of my Vistaprint coupons to order the invites and the RSVPs once I get the design.  My mom said she would help me address RSVP cards when she is visiting so hopefully we get them by then!

Here Comes The Bride

I love the idea of having Asher carry a "Here Comes The Bride" sign. So cute! Here are some examples...

my map!

So I decided to try my own hand at making my own custom map, similar to the one that I posted before and here it is! I think it came out pretty good. I'm going to include it in the invitation and in the welcome bags. On the back will be directions from the hotels to the Church and from the Church to the reception site.
